From the well known African country of Ghana, bronze charms, crafted in the shape of the famed Ashanti fertility “Akua’ba” doll. The A'kua ba dolls are fertility items that have been used for centuries by Ashanti women wanting for children. The large doll is placed in the privacy of her home. Small dolls are usually carried on her person so it can be taken every where she goes. These charms are hung around her neck as a pendant or around her wrist and worn as a charm. These actions are done in the hope of bearing children one day. Some ladies however will wear these charms as tiny badges of honor showing how many children they have!
