The Ashanti are known to depict natural items such as vegetables, sea creatures and insects in their goldweight repertoire. The electric fish is revered by the Ashanti because it is deadly. It can deliver a fatal shock to its enemy. The electric fish attributes have been associated with kingly power and rule. This weight is in fantastic condition and detailed extremely well. The beetle is another favorite. The curves of it's body were greatly admired. The ashanti related curves and spirals to ones life cycle and the flow of life in general.
