We are pleased to bring you from the renown collector and African art dealer Ladislas Segy, founder of the world famous Segy Gallery in New York, a collection of authentic Ashanti goldweights. Mr. Segy is author of such noted African art reference books as "African Sculpture Speaks and The Masks of Black Africa".

This offering is sponsered by Mr.& Mrs. Paul Calfayan. Each goldweight was purchased in 1979 and were at least 20 years old at that time.

A flock of birds on a tree is indicative of the Ashanti mentality that; only birds of the same clan or species play together on the same tree. This is synomous with the adage "Birds of a feather flock together."
