Mr. Segy is author of such noted African art reference books as "African Sculpture Speaks and The Masks of Black Africa". This offering is sponsered by Mr.& Mrs. Paul Calfayan. Each goldweight was purchased in 1979 and were at least 20 years old at that time. The complex yet simplistic pyramid is a symbol of towering importance to the Ashanti.
