Igbo Alusi Figure

The pantheons of the Igbo people of Nigeria are represented by large wooden forms. These figures known as "Alusi" or shrine figures portray gods who provide protection, healing and good fortune in return for respect, sacrificial food and adherence to their rules. Their hands are extended to receive gifts.

Our older Alusi figure has seen plenty of use and was subject to outside elements which lends to its authenticity. This selection begs to be placed on a stand and once done will become a prized highlight of your collecion.
