The Akan see the crocodile as a highly adaptable creature. To survive he must adjust to both land and water conditions. They relate this attribute to people who must adapt to situations in order to survive themselves. Practical wisdom is needed to accomplish this. Thusly the crocodile symbol also refered to as "Denkyem", speaks of people who can change with cautious prudence. The large circular weight on top of the mount is that of the sun. It contains three circulars with the life giving rays of the sun. The main energy source of life.
