Hand made in Ghana, this light weight variable pitch sound drum features two very smooth goat skin drumming surfaces, leather binding trim, decorative, light but durable twine that protects the hard wood detailed, hourglass shaped inner wood core. This instrument is suspended on the players shoulder by the twine cord, held under the arm, close to the rib cage and beaten rhythmically with the adjoining wooden stick. This drum was used for communication but mainly in dance ceremonies. Our selection is very well crafted.
