Product Description

Carnelian beads and pendants have been found in the Sahara desert as far back as 6000 BC. Carnelian is highly valued among the Tuareg. It is thought to ease menstrual cramps and help cure sicknesses of the blood. The Savannah people believe that carnelian offers protection from the evil eye. Carnelian serves as symbol of wealth. When worn on the finger it is believed to staunch wounds and nosebleeds. This precious stone has been fashioned into necklaces, hair pendants, rings and a vast assortment of other personal adornments that are worn religiously by men and women alike. The article on display is an authentic hard to find traditional selection. Crafted with pure African silver, featuring ageless Tuareg etchings; possessed and coveted by men and women, these rings are worn until death.

This is a unique selection crafted in Niger by master craftsman Omar Ibrahim Dakoro.
